About Us
Founded in 2006, the EU Swimming Invitational is a unique international competition hosted by a different country and city each year.
The mission of the EU Swimming Invitational is to provide swimmers of all ages and levels from across the globe the opportunity to compete in a truly international setting, while getting to know the languages, cultures and athletic achievements of their fellow swimmers.
The EU Swimming Invitational is guided in its mission by several core values:
- Promoting a grassroots sense of global citizenry while celebrating national diversity by allowing swimmers to meet and share their interests in different host countries
- Celebrating the true spirit of swimming by providing a quality event that allows each and every athlete the opportunity to reach their highest potential and achieve personal bests
- Recognizing the need for a swimming event, held at the international level, that allows swimmers of all ages to compete together in an atmosphere of competition and festivity
The event was first held in Paris, France in October 2006. Since then, it has been hosted in Liège (Belgium), Slupsk (Poland), Aarschot (Belgium), and Neuchâtel (Switzerland).
In 2011, the EU Swimming Invitational will be hosted in Miskolc, Hungary.
