About Neuchâtel
Situated on the largest entirely Swiss lake and surrounded by the Jura mountain range, the city of Neuchatel is the capital of the Swiss canton of Neuchatel and one of the principal cities in the French speaking region of the country,
la Suisse romande.

A beautiful and friendly city with a youthful, cosmopolitan atmosphere, Neuchatel is well-situated within Switzerland and also within Europe. Geneva airport is only 1 hour 15 minutes away by high-speed train, while Zurich airport is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes from Neuchatel.
Steeped in history, the golden yellow-stoned architecture of Neuchatel led writer Alexandre Dumas to describe the city as resembling a “town carved out of butter”. Wander through the streets, off the beaten path and enjoy the numerous cafes and restaurants in your spare time. Visit the Castle for a panoramic view of the city or, if you enjoy nature, take the funicular for a spectacular vista of the country - where rumor has it, you can sometimes see all the way to Mont Blanc.
