Facilities
The competition will be held in a 25 meter 10-lane pool, with electronic timing and scoreboard in accordance with FINA regulations. A separate 25 meter training pool will also be available for continuous warm-up and warm-down during the competition. This beautiful modern sports complex also boasts spectator seating for 500 people.
Cafeteria
A cafeteria selling a variety of sandwiches, snacks, and drinks will be open for the duration of the competition.
Meals
Lunches and dinners will be provided on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday at the University of Miskolc canteen. Cost will be 8 euros per person per meal. A dinner prior to the Sunday disco will be served in the canteen for 8 euros per person.
Sports Equipment Shop
The shop in the sports complex will be selling a variety of athletic and swimming-related products (hats, T-shirts, bathing suits, goggles, etc) during the competition.
Eligibility
The competition is open to all age groups. No qualifying times are necessary to participate. All participants must be registered with their country’s swimming federation and will be requested to include their license number with their entry forms.
Competition Authorization
The competition is authorized by the Hungarian Swimming Federation and will be conducted according to federation and FINA regulations.
Regulations
Entries will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. The organizers reserve the right to limit entries.
All exchanges and transactions regarding this competition are between Club Laguna Miskolc/Miskolc Varosi Sportskola and the participating clubs only. EUSwim.org bears no responsibility for any fees required by the host club for the event.
Age Group Categories
- 10 & under (2001+)
- 11-12 years (1999-2000)
- 13-14 years (1997-1998)
- 15-16 years (1995-1996)
- 17 & older (1994-)
Events
The programme for each age group category:
- 10 & under: 50m & 100m backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle; 50m butterfly; 100m medley
- 11 & older: 50m Freestyle, 100m each stroke, 200m back, breast, free and 200m medley
- Male and Female Medley and Freestyle Relays for each age group.
- An unofficial 'Open' category will also be available for relays of mixed ages. These relays will not count for points or medals but provide a fun opportunity for swimmers of different ages to participate in relays together!
Awards
Medals will be awarded to the first three swimmers of each age group category.
4th through 6th place swimmers will be awarded certificates.
High point awards will be presented to the top male and female swimmer of each age group category according to LEN points.
Entries
Entries must be submitted using the Excel entry form which will be made available shortly. Entries must be emailed to julia@euswim.org. Clubs will receive a confirmation of their entries by email.
Entry Deadline
Entries are due by 15 September 2011.
Entry Fees
€4.50 (Euros) per individual event, €8 (Euros) per relay event.
Payment
Payment must be made by wire transfer. Banking information will be provided via email to the clubs together with a confirmation of their entries.
Rules
- Preliminaries
- Swimmers will be grouped according to their seed times.
- Swimmers may swim no more than three (3) events per day.
- Finals
- The top 10 swimmers from the 11-12 category and older will swim in the evening finals.
- The 10 & under age group category will only swim in the morning as timed finals.
- All relay events will conducted as timed finals and will be swum in the evening.
Safety
For safety reasons, it is the responsibility of the Coaches/Team Managers to ensure their swimmers use the facility for the purpose intended. Any abuse will result in the removal of the swimmer from the competition. EUSwim.org and Club Laguna Miskolc/Miskolc Varosi Sportiskola bear no responsibility for lost property, damages or injuries.

Special Events
Friday, 22 October: Welcome Reception and Training Session
From 17:00-20:30, all teams are invited to meet us at the pool for a pre-competition welcome session. Coaches will be presented with an information package at this time, and swimmers are free to use the main pool for a training session. This is a perfect opportunity to meet the organizers and fellow teams, and to ask any questions you may have!
Saturday, 23 October: Opening Ceremonies
The opening ceremonies will take place just before finals on Saturday evening. This is a festive and symbolic time. The traditional parade of countries will be held, during which all participants may take part and represent their country. We encourage all clubs to bring their national flags and team banners. We will also be playing the European and the Hungarian anthems.
Sunday, 24 October: Farewell Party
Continuing the tradition, a farewell party will take place after the finals on Sunday. The party will include both a disco, and a formal reception for the coaches and team leaders. This has always been a fun event that allows swimmers, coaches and supporters to relax, enjoy themselves and celebrate a great weekend before the return home. All are welcome to attend! Reservation forms will be available shortly.
