Facilities
The competition will be held in a 25 meter 8-lane pool, with Omega electronic timing and scoreboard and water temperature set at 27°C. A separate pool will also be available for continuous warm-up and warm-down during the competition. The facility boasts ample spectator seating and a view on the Lake of Neuchâtel.

Cafeteria
A cafeteria selling a variety of sandwiches, snacks, and drinks will be open for the duration of the competition.

Swimshop
The Red-Fish Neuchâtel swimshop in the aquatic center will be selling a variety of swimming-related products (hats, T-shirts, bathing suits, goggles, etc) during the competition.

Eligibility
The competition is open to all age groups. No qualifying times are necessary to participate. All participants must be registered with their country’s swimming federation and will be requested to include their license number with their entry forms.

Competition Authorization
The competition is authorized by the Swiss Swimming Federation and will be conducted according to federation and FINA regulations.

Regulations
Entries will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. The organizers reserve the right to limit entries.
All exchanges and transactions regarding this competition are between Red-Fish Cercle des Nageurs de Neuchâtel and the participating clubs only. EUSwim.org bears no responsibility for any fees required by the host club for the event.

Age Group Categories

  • 10 & under (2000+)
  • 11-12 years (1998-1999)
  • 13-14 years (1996-1997)
  • 15-16 years (1994-1995)
  • 17 & older (1993-)

Events
The programme for each age group category:

  • 10 & under: 50m backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle; 100m medley. The 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke are also open to this age group and will be swum as unofficial races.
  • 11 & older: 50m Freestyle, 100m each stroke, 200m back, breast, free and 200 medley
  • Male and Female Medley and Freestyle Relays for each age group except 10 & unders.

Awards
Medals will be awarded to the first three swimmers of each age group category.
A special Swiss prize will be awarded to the top 3 relay teams of each age group category.
A special prize will be awarded by the ZV Utrecht team from the Netherlands for all 10 & under participants swimming the 100 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke.

Entries
The competition will be conducted using SPLASH software. Entries must be submitted in LENEX format. If your club does not use LENEX, please submit the Excel entry form. Entries must be emailed to julia@euswim.org. Clubs will receive a confirmation of their entries by email.

Entry Deadline
Entries are due by Friday, 3 September 2010.

Entry Fees
€5 (Euros) [8 CH francs] per individual event, €7.50 (Euros) [12 CH francs] per relay.
Fees are due by Friday, 1 October 2010.

Payment
Payment must be made by wire transfer. Banking information will be provided via email to the clubs together with a confirmation of their entries.

Rules

  • Preliminaries
    • Swimmers will be grouped according to their seed times.
    • Swimmers may swim no more than three (3) events per day.
  • Finals
    • The top 8 swimmers of each sex from the 11-12 category and older will swim in the evening finals.
    • The 10 & under age group category will only swim in the morning as timed finals.
  • All relay events will conducted as timed finals and will be swum in the evening.

Safety
For safety reasons, it is the responsibility of the Coaches/Team Managers to ensure their swimmers use the facility for the purpose intended. Any abuse will result in the removal of the swimmer from the competition. EUSwim.org and the Red-Fish Cercle des Nageurs de Neuchâtel bear no responsibility for lost property, damages or injuries.

Special Events

Friday, 22 October: Welcome Reception and Training Session
From 18:30-20:30, all teams are invited to meet us at the pool for a pre-competition welcome session. Coaches will be presented with an information package at this time, and swimmers are free to use the main pool for a training session. This is a perfect opportunity to meet the organizers and fellow teams, and to ask any questions you may have!

Saturday, 23 October: Opening Ceremonies
The opening ceremonies will take place just before finals on Saturday evening. This is a festive and symbolic time. The traditional parade of countries will be held, during which all participants may take part and represent their country. We encourage all clubs to bring their national flags and team banners. We will also be playing the Swiss and European anthems.
